SPOTLIGHT COMMUNITY lakeregional.com 3 RAD GIVING Every year, Lake Regional celebrates National Radiologic Technology Week with a project to make blankets for Lake Regional Cancer Center patients. Hospital and community volunteers support this effort, which annually provides more than 100 blankets to local cancer patients. MENDED HEARTS Lake Regional Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation in Osage Beach hosts Mended Hearts, a monthly support group for people living with heart disease or a heart condition. The group meets at noon the second Thursday of each month. To participate, contact Jennifer Newman, director of Lake Regional Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, at 573-302-2282 . THE RIGHT PLAN Peter Elliott, PharmD, helps John and Margo Kearney choose Medicare Part D plans. During open enrollment, Elliott traveled to all five Lake Regional Pharmacy locations — Camdenton, Eldon, Lake Ozark, Laurie and Osage Beach — to provide free assistance sessions. A total of 115 participants received help. HEALTHY HABITS Nurses and doctors from Lake Regional Clinic – Eldon visited Eldon’s South Elementary School on Nov. 17. SAFER SPORTS To help student athletes compete with fewer injuries — and to ensure proper care for injuries that do occur — Lake Regional Sports Medicine athletic trainers attend practices and games at three local schools, at no cost to the school districts.
