Lake Regional is a proud supporter of the clinic, which provides free health care to lake-area residents with financial need. BUILDING A BETTER LAKE REGIONAL Since last fall, Lake Regional Hospital has been undergoing major renovations to improve the customer experience. The project includes a remodeled main lobby, Emergency Department lobby and Outpatient Services department. Plus, a new Family Birth Center and Women’s and Children’s Unit will open in spring 2018. Visit lakeregional.com/construction for updates and photos. LAKE REGIONAL CARES FOR KIDS Hundreds of families came to the Lake Regional Cares for Kids Festival for fall fun on Oct. 21. Kids explored a fire truck, ambulance and helicopter. They also had fun with pumpkin painting, games, a straw maze and more. The first 200 children received a free T-shirt, and there was a free hot dog lunch for all. PROUD TO MENTOR Lake Regional Registered Nurse Jessica Thurmond explains a chart used in pediatric emergencies to Camdenton High School students Sara McDuffey and Laeli Schiefelbein. The students are participating in Greater Ozarks Centers for Advanced Professional Studies (GOCAPS), a program that provides yearlong immersive experiences to high school juniors and seniors. Lake Regional is hosting 29 GOCAPS students from Camdenton and Lebanon high schools this school year. GO, KIDS, GO! Owen Star, 9, was one of 19 Lake Regional Occupational Therapy pediatric patients who received specially adapted therapeutic trikes at the Great American Amtryke Giveaway on Oct. 21 at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage B each.
