Henry as its new chief execu- tive officer. Henry joined the organization on Sept. 18. “Dane Henry is an expe- rienced executive who has a demonstrated ability to provide strategic leadership,” says Corey ten Bensel, president of the Lake Regional Health System Board of Directors. “Following an extensive search that included many well- qualified candidates, it was clear Mr. Henry will provide a strong focus on patient-centered care. The board is confident he will build on the past successes of Lake Regional, while bringing new ideas that complement our goals for serving the lake area and strengthening community relationships.” Past and present Before joining Lake Regional, Henry served as executive vice president and chief operating of- ficer at DeKalb Regional Healthcare System in Decatur, Georgia. Previously, he served as vice president of operations for Northeast Georgia Medical Center and Health System in Gaines- ville. There, his achievements included leading the creation of a trauma program that formalized and dramatically improved trauma care. Early on in his career, Henry served as an Air Force officer focused on medical logistics and readiness. He is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in purchasing and opera- tions management/business management from Florida State University in Tallahassee. Henry has been married for 25 years to his wife, Jennifer, and they have four children— two in col- lege and two still at home. Bright future Henry said he is looking forward to advancing Lake Regional’s strengths. “This is an organization that has a bright future,” he says. “It’s rare to find a hospital this size with the breadth and depth of services avail- able here. I want residents and visitors of the lake area to know we are committed to provid- ing dependable, advanced, comprehensive care.” Henry succeeds Michael E. Henze, who served as Lake Regional Health System’s CEO for more than 27 years. “Mike Henze is leaving a lasting legacy, and it is an honor to follow him,” Henry says. “He and his team have provided the opportunity to take a strong organization and make it even stronger.
