SPOTLIGHT COMMUNITY Stop the Bleed Lake Regional provided Stop the Bleed training to Camdenton R-III staff on Jan. 4, School of the Osage staff on March 8 and Eldon School District on March 27. Mariah Swinker, R.N., trauma nurse coordinator, led the trainings, with assistance from Lauryn Salts, R.N., trauma nurse registrar, and Natasha Lobosky, PCT (pictured far left, in Camdenton). Each school also received a Bleeding Control Station, donated by the Tracy Family Foundation in cooperation with Lake Regional Hospital Auxiliary. Go Red For Women Lake Regional kicked off Heart Month with Go Red For Women Day on Feb. 1. Approximately 60 women attended this free health talk, led by Anita Marlay, R.D., L.D.; Jody Corpe, E.P., M.S., manager of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation; and Jennifer Newman, R.N., BSN, cPT, director of Cardiac Services. Literacy Night Eldon South Elementary School’s Literacy Night on Feb. 21 included a meal, literacy activities, a book walk and a book fair. Supporting the event were Julie Russell, FNP; Brooke Koestner, LPN; Cynthia Wallace; and Jennifer Connell, all from Lake Regional Clinic – Eldon. Cancer Center open house Lake Regional Cancer Services hosted an open house on March 5 at the Cancer Center. Attendees met members of our comprehensive cancer team and learned about new equipment and technology, including a new da Vinci X robot used in some minimally invasive surgeries.
