Lake Regional and rapid COVID-19 testing Lake Regional earns award for quality stroke care F or the fifth consecutive year, Lake Regional Health System has re- ceived the American Heart Association/ American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. This award recognizes the hospital’s commitment to ensuring that stroke patients receive treatment based on the latest scientific evidence. “Lake Regional is dedicated to im- proving the quality of care for our stroke patients by implementing the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines-Stroke initiative,” says Crystal Lloyd, R.N., Lake Regional stroke coordinator. “The tools and resources provided help us track and measure our success in meeting evidence-based clinical guidelines that improve patient outcomes.” Lake Regional Health System also received the association’s Target: Stroke SM Elite Honor Roll award. To earn this award, the hospital focuses on reducing the time between a patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment with tPA, a medication that breaks up clots blocking blood flow in the brain.
